Marsala, Pantone's Color of the Year for 2015, is a rich red
based on fortified wine. "This tasteful hue embodies the satisfying
richness of a fulfilling meal, while its grounding red-brown roots
emanate a sophisticated, natural earthiness," explains Lee Eiseman, the
Executive Director at the Pantone Color Institute. Marsala was already a favorite on the Spring 2015 runways, and is
predicted to be even more popular in fashion in the coming months.
Expect to see it in both men's and women's shoes, hats and other
accessories. Due to the color's ability to flatter all skin tones,
Marsala will also be a staple in beauty this year. For interiors, Lee
Eiseman says, "Marsala definitely lends itself well to plush texture.
Because of the strong undertone of brown, you have all kinds of
variation going on within the color, so a textured fabric will play all kinds of wonderful tricks with the eye." We've pulled all of our patterns that contain the hue into one easy
spot on our site for you to browse. Bring the on-trend color into your
home with one or more of these products which include designer fabric, wallpaper and trim.
