Product Description for Scalamandre Maison Pondicherry Blue Planter
Palampores, or tree-of-life patterns have origins in India, where the exotic designs were hand painted and mordant dyed--then exported to Europe and England for use as elaborate bed hangings and curtains. Scalamandre's timeless tree-of-life print, Pondicherry, is offered in rich blues on cream crackled porcelain for today's classic interior. The grand scale of the exotic tree is softened with finely detailed flowers and foliage, and is accented with small birds and animals. This is typical of this historic and favored fabric design. The Pondicherry quatrefoil planter is scaled for four, 6" diameter plants such as orchids for an easy, yet perfect centerpiece. Place the four plants in the shaped planter, then add the custom florist detail by adding moss as filler for a finishing touch. You may also place a single plant for an elegant statement on the dining table. We also love to use the planters for entertaining. Simply, layer bubble wrap on the bottom, then add cubed ice. The planter can then be used for wine or a drinks chiller on the sideboard. Measurements: 8"H x 14"W Materials: porcelain, solid brass feet

What is the difference between a sample and a cutting?
A sample comes from a random dye lot and its purpose is for you to determine if you want that particular design. A cutting (or CFA) is for the purpose of matching colors. It is much smaller than a sample and comes from the specific dye lot that is currently in stock at the manufacturer’s warehouse. Please note that CFAs are only available for active fabric items and Phillip Jeffries wallpaper.
Can I keep samples?
Samples are on loan and you may keep them until you are finished with them. However, when you are finished with them it is important to return them to the proper manufacturer. Returned samples are not refunded.
What sizes do samples come in?
All samples are meant for interior designers’ usage and are very generous. A large pattern will be a large rectangle for you to visualize it accurately. A solid pattern will be an adequate size to view the pattern.
Why are samples priced?
The $5 Sample Fee is a processing fee and is non-refundable unless you do not receive your sample. All samples are ordered online.
Can I track my samples?
Manufacturers often mail the samples via USPS and tracking is not available.
